The inscription along the top reads:
TO DIANA PATRICK FROM YOUR FRIEND THE PAINTER
This person was an author and pseudonym name for:-
DESEMEA NEWMAN (1878 - 1964) the daughter of Mrs Newman above.
My late partner was left this painting by his godfather DEREK ANTHONY COCKCROFT (1907 - 1983) he was the grandson of ISABELLA NEWMAN and nephew to DESEMEA NEWMAN.
